Hitting Development Program

Our hitting program is built to help players develop a powerful, efficient, and repeatable swing using the same science-based training methods that are used at the professional level. The program focuses on improving swing mechanics, timing, decision-making, and overall hitting IQ—turning players into confident, complete hitters.

1. Initial Swing Assessment

Every athlete begins with a structured hitting evaluation that may include:

  • Mechanical video and ground force analysis
  • Bat speed and swing-path metrics
  • Timing and pitch recognition review
  • Strength and mobility screening

This establishes a baseline and guides each player’s individualized development plan.

2. Swing Mechanics & Movement Pattern Training

We teach proper sequencing and body control to create a more efficient and powerful swing.

Players learn:

  • Lower-body loading and weight transfer
  • Hip-torso separation
  • Balanced posture throughout the swing
  • A consistent bat path
  • Strong contact positions

The focus is on repeatable mechanics that hold up in real games—not just in drills.

3. Bat Speed, Power, & Contact Quality

Players follow age-appropriate progressions to improve bat speed, exit velocity, and barrel consistency. Training incorporates:

  • Rotation strength and power exercises
  • Controlled intent swings
  • Contact-point training
  • Bat-path adjustments for more consistent hard contact

These sessions build a swing that produces real power without sacrificing control.

4. Timing, Approach, & Pitch Recognition

Great hitters don’t just swing well—they think well. We train hitters to:

  • Understand timing windows
  • Recognize pitch types earlier
  • Build an effective plate approach
  • Adjust to different pitch speeds and locations

This helps players make better decisions and become more dangerous at the plate.

5. Game-Like Reps & Situational Hitting

Athletes practice hitting in realistic situations, including:

  • Velocity machine work
  • Breaking-ball recognition
  • Inside/outside pitch coverage
  • Two-strike approach
  • Situational hitting (runner on 3rd, hit-and-run, etc.)

The goal is to transfer training results directly to real competition.

6. Progress Tracking & Re-Assessment

Each training block ends with a re-evaluation so players (and parents) can clearly see improvements in:

  • Bat speed
  • Hard-contact percentage
  • Swing efficiency
  • Plate discipline
  • Overall hitting performance

Players receive guidance for continued development between cycles.

The Goal

To develop confident, well-rounded hitters who understand their swing, make smarter decisions at the plate, and consistently produce in game situations—whether preparing for the next age level, high school competition, or the college recruitment process.
